Athenum vs Bookmap

Compare Bookmap's heatmap workflow with Athenum's Whale Walls and market context. Understand resting orders, executions, depth limits and replay.

Published by Athenum Analytics, the maker of Athenum. This is our assessment of workflow fit, based on the linked documentation and our product. It is not an independent benchmark or a measured performance ranking.

Which fits your task?

Consider Athenum for a browser workspace connecting separate venue books, wall behavior, derivatives positioning and macro context. Compare the same instrument before interpreting disagreement between spot and perpetual books.

Choose Bookmap when your main task is studying historical resting liquidity alongside executed volume in its heatmap and replay workflow. Athenum's multi-panel view does not establish feature parity with that specialist workflow.

Displayed evidenceSeparate venue order books and wall lifecycle observations.A heatmap of resting liquidity with executed trades displayed separately.
Time and replayRead each panel's timestamp and available history; an archived screenshot is not a replay recording.Documents recording and live/replay status in its information bar.
Depth boundaryCheck venue coverage and depth limits before comparing visible walls. Its settings describe how out-of-range levels can retain last-known values and offer reset behavior.
Layout and interpretationUse linked context to ask whether book behavior agrees with positioning.Heatmap contrast, zoom and data coverage affect what is visible. Match settings before comparing images.

Does a disappearing wall prove spoofing?

No. Cancellation, repricing, execution, a depth boundary or a feed interruption can remove a visible level. Compare event timing and trade prints, and preserve the venue and observation window. Intent is not observable from color alone.

A practical comparison you can repeat

Pick one venue and contract, record the depth limit, then compare the same price region at the same time. Change the zoom without changing the data. If the apparent wall changes only with the display, investigate the rendering before treating it as new market behavior.

Evidence and limits

Our Bitcoin perp holding-cost audit compares funding with fees in a stated historical sample. For visible liquidity, read Whale Walls behavior and limitations and the heatmap interpretation checklist. Prices, entitlements and feed coverage can change; verify the exact edition and market before paying or migrating.
